Summer camp carnival
Dear parents,
Friday July 29th will be carnival day at camp. All campers will participate in relays, carnival games, water games etc. In the afternoon, the different groups will show their peers some of what they have learned or otherwise done during camp. Half-day campers are welcome to stay all day. Due to space limitations we unfortunately cannot invite parents to the show.
Please make sure your campers bring their swim suit, a towel, shoes that can get wet and sun protection for this day!

Week 6 Voyage à travers la musique.
Dear Parents;
This is our last week for the Summer Camps 2011. We really enjoyed our time with the kids.
This last week we are getting ready for a performance that we will present on Friday. We will learn a song: “Pirouette, Cacahouette…. We will learn vocabulary related with the house, the body and transportation.
We will continue our trip to find the petals of the “la Fleur de lune” with Boowa et Kwala: au pays de la carpe, au pays des coquelicots, au pays du bonhomme de neige and we will find ‘la jolie fleur de lune’.
If the weather permits, we will have water day Wednesday and Friday morning. Please do not forget to send a towel and a bathing suit.
Merci.

French Sports Week 5
Bonjour tout le monde! The kids are really enjoying themselves in sports class, and have improved their team work and athletic skills, but more importantly they have improved their french speaking skills tremendously! This is what we will do for the upcoming week,
Monday- We will be doing relays that unlike last week, it will require speed and less endurance.
Tuesday- Campers will play kick ball! Which allows them to build good eye-hand coordination plus great for communication in french with team mates!
Wednesday- The kids will have individualized timed relay races to encourage them to push themselves while having a lot of fun!
Thursday- Basketball is the name of the sport! A good ol’ fashion way of building endurance while working together!
Friday- Rematch of last weeks huge tug of war games!
Thanks, see you next week!

Week 5: Sous l’eau!
Bonjour;
My name is Dolores Virasoro. This is going to be my second week working with this group.
I am really enjoying my time with them.
This week, get ready to get wet. We are going to travel aboard a submarine, deep under the sea. We will look for all kind of fishes and creatures.
We will continue traveling with Boowa and Kwala to: au pays des longs cous, au pays des pyramides and au pays du toucan Toco.
The two last weeks remaining of the Summer Camp, we will be having two water days, Wednesday and Fridays during the morning. Make sure to have a swim suit, towel and flip flops and sunscreen.
Looking forward to work two more weeks with your kids.
Dolores and Armelle.

We will continue traveling with Boowa and Kwala. We will be looking for the ten petals of the “Moon Flower”: au pays de la baleine bleue, au pays du saule pleureur, au pays du moulin a vent. On our trip to space we will meet “La fleur de Lune”. The campers will learn words related to space, sing songs and read stories.
All together we will paint a mural, cut and paint the planets, the sun, galaxy, stars, astronauts, and a space ship using different techniques.
We will have fun playing games and singing songs.
French Sports – week 4
Salut tout le monde! The kids really enjoyed the ball games from this week and by the end of the week I noticed improvements in their coordination skills. For week 4 we will be doing mostly endurance sports.
Monday- We will be playing relay games to get their hearts pumping and blood rushing. In order to will the relays we will be setting up, they will have to learn to pace themselves to have maximal endurance.
Tuesday- Campers will play soccer games to build up their endurance while using their coordination and team work skills from the week before.
Wednesday- The kids will have a big tug of war, which, contrary to popular belief, doesn’t have all to do with strength but with endurance also. The team that gets tired first will lose.
Thursday- Basketball is the name of the sport! A good ol’ fashion way of building endurance while working together!
Friday- Giant Obstacle Course!! The team that clears the whole obstacle course the quickest will win. Of course the course will be no walk in the park…
Thanks, see you next week!
